Why are so many US Citizens influenced by people who persuaded us into war with Iraq? A war that destroyed Iraq, killed more than 200,000 people, and cost over one trillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000.00). The published premise for invading Iraq was that there were weapons of mass destruction. The war mongering voices of Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, and most , if not all elected Republicans and some Democrats convinced many in the world that the invasion of Iraq was justified even though world leaders and inspectors advised against invasion.
Middle Eastern countries are friends of the US until they become enemies (with so called terrorist States, or possessors of WMD, or plans to possess them). Why do Republicans love war? They always see force as the only solution to a problem. Is it because of how this nation was nurtured. Is manifesting destiny over the entire world with economic and social practices the mindset of most White US citizens?
“The belief or doctrine, held chiefly in the middle and latter part of the 19th century, that it was the destiny of the U.S. to expand its territory over the whole of North America and to extend and enhance its political, social, and economic influences.” Dictionary.com.
Five nations have agreed to the nuclear deal with Iran, these countries are: France, the United Kingdom, the European Union, China, and Germany. The participants of the deal included scientists, economists, and top political representatives.
Is the world to believe that all Republican members and Democrats in the US Congress are more educated on the matter of nuclear activities, constructs, and diplomacy? I think not. I believe that the main reason for objecting to this deal is the presence of President Barak Obama.
The other reason is the adherence to the belief that Israel will be destroyed by Iran —based on threats by some Iranian leaders— and the lies and innuendos presented by Benjamin Nethnayu. Israel is cuddled by most Republicans and some Democrats as if it were a state of the United States. Israel is not admonished and alienated for their continued inhumane and terrorist actions against the Palestinian people.
Too many Americans are swayed by insensitive and abrasive language and divisive speeches by politicians, political activists, and intended benefactors of any war. Wars provide massive revenues for a few businesses that control food manufacturing, weapons manufacturing, logistics expertise, clothing manufacturers, and computer resources, and services. The aims of these businesses are to make profits at any cost; respecting the lives of others is secondary to their beliefs.
How can you control a situation in which you cannot participate and analyze? You can only do this by being a part of the situation; therefore, the present deal with Iran is better than no deal. Many objected to the deal before they read it and many objected because President Obama agrees with it. Yet they have not proposed a more brilliant deal.
The hatred for President Obama (person and policies) is so pervasive that, the Minority Leader of the US Senate (he is now the Majority leader) vowed that he would do anything to make President Obama the worst US President. This became and invigorated the mindset of almost all Republican members of the US Congress and some members of the Democratic Party.
The US government cannot function effectively if one of its three branches pledges to disavow the Executive branch.
Question to Republicans and others against the deal: When will you present a better deal?
