Multiple award winning Reggae artiste Tasha T is to present the Roialtee Dymond Academic Scholarship at the Porus High School in Manchester, Jamaica. The presentation will occur on June 27, 2013 during the school's Graduation Day ceremony. The Sing-Jay/writer/record label owner, who is no stranger to uplifting educational projects, was the "Read Across Jamaica Foundation" ambassador for 2012 and now takes on this new role with the same energy and enthusiasm. The Roialtee Dymond Academic Scholarship is based on an essay competition and is an award of financial aid for students to further their education. Three students from Porus High School are recipients of this year's’ scholarship, which will be presented as first, second and third place "prizes." Tasha T, along with reggae recording artistes I-Wayne, Asante Amen and QQ will do the presentations during Graduation day activities.
"I am very excited to be selected as one of the presenters for this years’ scholarship. I must commend Roialtee Entertainment on the excellent work they are doing for the Porus High School students," stated Tasha T. "I really believe that we, reggae artiste, should support these initiatives and continue to be a positive influence for the children".
Tasha T is no stranger when it comes to providing positive upliftment for young people. Earlier this year she released a single, “"In A Di Jungle" that highlights the challenges faced by youth in inner-city neighbourhoods and warns about the consequences of choosing the path of a gangster.
While in Jamaica, Tasha T will visit several basic schools and early childhood centers as part of the Roialtee Entertainment International donation program.
