3 months into the New Year and recording artist K’Coneil has already amassed impressive accolades such as nominations for the 2018 JUNO awards for Best Reggae Recording, and Best New Entertainer by the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
On Friday, March 16th, K’Coneil will take the stage alongside Nigerian Afrobeat star Adekunle Gold and rapper Talib Kweli among others at Digiwaxx’s “The Blast Lounge” part of the South by Southwest Conferences & Festivals in Austin, Texas. This will be a first at SXSW for the Genre Fluid artist who is eager to deliver music from his billboard charting debut “Love & Lust” EP.
South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the largest creative gatherings in the world, featuring music and film festivals, conferences on a wide range of topics and exhibitions. Broadly speaking, the festival is centered around exploring creative arts and their evolving place in the world. Gathering so many innovators from a multitude of mediums in one place gives SXSW an electric atmosphere, resulting in particularly memorable performances and moments for fans and participants alike.
“I’m excited to be performing at SXSW. I am often asked what is this Genre Fluid I speak about, although I can explain that it’s the ability to float in and out of different genres, on that stage I will be able to demonstrate,” stated an enthusiastic K’Coneil.
For this year staging off SXSW, K’Coneil is looking to leave his mark, and make new fans, while soaking in the vibes of the festival which year after year, has been a launching pad for new creative content by gathering all genres and facets. New media presentations, music showcases, and film screenings provide buzz-generating exposure for creators and compelling entertainment for the audience.
There will be little time to rest for K’Coneil as he will thereafter head to Chicago to perform at the IRAWMA. This is the biggest music night in Chicago—the red carpet is being rolled out for the 37th annual Chicago Music Awards, which this year, is combined with the 36th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the Logan Center for the Arts, University of Chicago, Hyde Park, Chicago.
