Saddle Up with U.S. Virgin Island’s Soca Songstress Rudy Live

The U.S. Virgin Islands — turquoise waters, sunshine, intoxicating tropical aroma, steel drum, pulsating rhythm of soca, plus the captivating, catchy, and exciting Rudy Live.

Born Toiya Isaac in St. Thomas, her story is reminiscent of those true artists born with the essence of music in their veins. Starting in music at a young age, she later adopted the moniker of Rudy Live.

Rudy Live recalls her destiny becoming clear with her first stage performance at the junior show in St.Thomas, V.I.

Although Rudy Live was influenced by reggae and the iconic words of Bob Marley, the soulful voice of Whitney Houston, the charisma of Janet Jackson, and the stage presence of Michael Jackson, it wasn’t until her first soca show where Allison Hinds gave a memorable performance that Rudy Live fell in love with soca music and understood her musical calling.

Rudy Live went on to make her mark by becoming the first  and only female to twice capture the title of Soca Monarch in St. Thomas and St. Croix (2013 and 2014) consecutively.

Adding to this prestige, Rudy Live achieved an honor, sought by many of her peers, by collaborating and sharing the stage with international soca king, Machel Montano.

Rudy Live already boasts an impressive discography, namely It’s Rudy Soca Edition 2010, It’s Rudy Socanomics 2011, Rudy Soca Invasion 2012, Rewine 2013, Wip it Remix featuring Machel, Heat Wave 2014, Show Dem Remix Featuring Shurwayne Winchester, and Demolish 2015 EP.

“Saddle Up” with U.S.V.I Soca Songstress Rudy Live!

On the heels of her successful performance at the 2016 St. John Festival, the energetic vibrant Rudy Live is back on the promotional trail of her catchy buzz worthy summer hit bound single “Saddle Up”.

Produced by Leron “Stretch” Lake and written by Fitroy “Figgy” Oggro and Toiya “Rudy Live” Isaac, Saddle Up is laid on a hot pulsating, high energy rhythm laced with powerful vocals and female empowerment lyrics.

“If ah have to tell you what ah want when is you who ask for dance. If ah have to tell you what to do why should I take ah chance. You can’t want a gyal then you get gyal an acting like you lost. You see gyal like me hot gyal what we want is ah boss. Saddle up…” sings Rudy Live on the follow up track since the release of her well received 2015 “Demolished EP”.

Speaking about this hit bound single, the dynamic soca songstress explained, “Fresh off my EP Demolished I wanted something new and innovative. I worked with Figgy before, he wrote my Come and Get a Plate. I wanted something hot, spicy with a kick to it. Something the ladies can sing out to while giving instructions on how to ride the saddle.”

This budding star has progressed against the difficult odds of being a single mother and has obtained higher education and is now a Registered Dental Assistant.

Combining smarts, beauty and talent, Rudy Live aims to inspire through her music and represent her beloved island on an international level. “I want to be remembered as someone who made an impact in this world, with faith you can move mountains, you can reach your goals, nothing can stop you,” she commented.

Saddle Up is now available on iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay and all major online digital stores.
