Stephen Cobb, President of the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group, has resigned the company’s membership with the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) over an issue about a book the company published titled “God and the Gay Christian,” which is written by gay author Matthew Vines.
Jerry Johnson, President and CEO of NRB, contacted Cobb over concerns about the book, which states that homosëxuals can be faithful Christians because God does not condemn their lifestyle as sinful.
However, when Cobb stated that he didn’t believe his publishing group had done anything wrong, and the book was a “thoughtful examination of Scripture on the topic of same-sëx relationships,” Johnson wrote to the NRB’s board of directors.
