AgendaThe Dialogue aims to explore the emerging trade and investment opportunities in the Caribbean's over $1.2 Billion agribusiness sector. ICS brings together program managers, policy makers, and private sector stakeholders to engage in a candid exchange focused on sustainable and profitable partnerships. The forum also provides a trusted mechanism where businesses can access information and resources from potential partners for their initiatives.


Meet one of the Speakers

A former banker with over thirty years of corporate, commercial and retail banking experience, Minna Israel was appointed Special Advisor to the Vice chancellor on Resource Development effective September 2, 2013.

Prior to that, she held the position of Chairman of the Board and Distinguished Business Fellow at The University of the West Indies, Mona School of Business & Management (MSBM) an opportunity to "give back" to an institution which provided the foundation for a successful career. 

Minna was the President & Country Head of RBC Royal Bank Jamaica for 4 years.  In January 2005, she was appointed the first female Country Head in Scotiabank International and spent 3 years as Managing Director of Scotiabank (Bahamas) Limited, and previously, she held the position of Executive Vice President and Deputy CEO of The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited.
 
Minna's performance and contribution to the wider society has made her the recipient of a number of local, regional and international awards including the UWI Honorary Doctor of Laws degree, in November, 2011.

Minna continues to contribute to the development of her country as:

  • Vice President, International Women Forum (Jamaica) 
  • Member of the United Way Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI);
  • Member of the Rotary Club of St. Andrew;

In 2012-13, Minna also served on the committee of The Independent Commission for the Judiciary, providing inquiry and recommendations on the adequacy of salaries and benefits for Judges, and in June 2013 she was appointed to the Judicial Sercice Commission.

Minna holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and General Management from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the Western University, Ontario, Canada; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies; and a Diploma in Business Administration specializing in Banking from the University of Technology. 
In 2002, Minna also completed the Executive Program at University of Michigan Business School.

Minna is a past-President of the Jamaica Bankers' Association, having served for the period 2009 to 2011.  She was the first female to be elected president of the Association since its incorporation.
