Lisa Alexander

Community Volunteer Award

This award recognizes women whose excellence in leadership has positively influenced others to participate in various initiatives.

Lisa Alexander will receive this award in Toronto, Canada on March 16, 2013. The award is presented by the International Women Achievers’ Awards, a Canadian based organization. To learn more please visit IWAA.

Lisa Alexander is the Director of Community Engagement at Bereaved Families of Ontario – Halton/Peel. Lisa first came to BFO-H/P seeking support after the sudden and unexpected death of her beloved 13 year old daughter, Victoria, in 2006.  She transitioned from client to employee 5 years ago, and has since worked diligently to promote grief awareness in her community and provide compassionate support to those navigating through their grief.

Lisa embodies the aims of the organization as she actively seeks to destigmatize grief in honour of her daughter by openly sharing her story of love and loss.
