Also on the delegation were, Director International Cooperation in Health, Ms. Ava Gay Timberlake and head of Non Communicable Diseases Focal Point for the Ministry, Dr. Tamu Davidson and Oncology Surgeon at the University of West Indies Hospital, Dr. Patrick Roberts Visited Sunnybrook.
The Delegation visited Toronto for one week and signed a memorandum of understanding between the government of Jamaica and Sunnybrook to collaborate in the following areas: to develop systems of cancer care, emergency pre-hospital care, trauma and emergency medicine, chronic disease management, medical and health information technologies, health human resources training and education, research and innovation platform development, international best practices and health care infrastructure development.
Sunnybrook has also partnered with the JDCF to host the 2014 Jamaican and Diaspora Health Forum to review the progress on implementation of the Vision 20/30 plan for health in Jamaica and make a tangible contribution to realizing that vision. Sunnybrook is therefore a very reliable partner with the JDCF and the Government of Jamaica.
The donation of needed medical equipment is only one aspect of a three dimensional Partnership between the JDCF, The Government of Jamaica and Sunnybrook.
