Few minority women make it to the top of their profession while maintaining longevity in the industry. Garcelle Beauvais not only can claim being one of these few minority women but she can claim it in two different professions. As an actress and a super model she has traveled the world and experienced events that many women can only dream of. This Haitian-American talent has proven that dreams are possible and that with talent and hard work success is within realistic grasp.
Garcelle broke into the spotlight by showing her talent as a member of Ford Models. Her first stumbling block was when she started professional modeling at an age many people in the industry claim to be late. At 17, when most professional models her age had been walking the runway for several years, she started as a premiere model with not one but two top industry names. Ford Models and Irene Marie Models lead Beauvais down runways for famous designers such as Calvin Klein and eventually to the cover of the famous minority magazine Jet. Her modeling career paid off in 2001 when she landed on the list of "The 10 Sexiest Women of 2001" in Black Men Magazine. In 2007 Garcelle appeared in Playboy magazine.
After making her presence known on runways across the world she began breaking into the entertainment industry. Though she had already been a guest star in small television roles she took her first serious steps into the industry with roles in music videos by well known artists Luther Vandross and R. Kelly. This was the perfect step for her career because it put her face on televisions around the world and exposed her to two different forms of music audiences. Eventually her wise choices would lead her to work on the acclaimed Jamie Fox series the Jamie Fox Show and NYPD Blue. Her most recent television role came in 2011 with her role as Hanna Linden alongside Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar on the series Franklin & Bash. The show is in season 2.
After a failed marriage many celebrities would fall out of the limelight, however, Garcelle took the opportunity as a way to find increased freedom in her movie career. Appearing in Wild, Wild West alongside Will Smith and the famous movie I Know Who Killed Me she has shown her strength and talent to a worldwide adoring audience. Ms. Beauvais is currently residing with her sons from her marriages with Daniel Sanders and Mike Nolan. Her Los Angels home was recently featured on Home and Garden Channel as part of their ongoing series My Favorite Place.
