Join the celebration! On Saturday, October 26, 2013 Doorsteps Neighbourhood Services will be celebrating 15 years of community resiliency. This is our annual fundraising Masquerade Ball at the Paradise Banquet & Convention Centre, 7601 Jane Street 7pm.
Doorsteps Neighbourhood Services is located in the Black Creek, Jane/Chalkfarm and Jane/Finch communities. We are positioned in three of the most ethnically and racially diverse neighbourhoods in the City of Toronto.
Come and learn, and socialize with keynote speaker Debbie Douglas, Executive Director of Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI), and guest speakers, Axelle Janczur, Executive Director of Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services and Kris Boyce, Chief Executive Officer of Greenwin Inc. Speakers will discuss the social issues that newcomers/immigrants are coping with, health and poverty, as well as the benefits of public, private partnerships as it relates to housing sustainability.
We are highlighting our youth entrepreneurs from ASCEND, several of whom have donated their products and services for the 50-50 Silent Auction. Make a bid on their business success!
We want you there as part of the learning, building and celebrating community resiliency! Proceeds from this event will directly support our children and youth services, and the United Way.
