This programme was done in collaboration with UWI, Mona.
Her work in the fashion Industry began when she moved to Jamaica to attend UWI. After attending the island’s major fashion shows in 2009 and networking with designers she walked into the office of Saint International, one of the giants in the fashion industry in the Caribbean and expressed her interest in an internship. The CEO, Dwight Peters pulled her in as a production assistant intern to plan and organize one of their major events for the year, Style Week Jamaica.
The experience was exhilarating as she learned how fast paced the fashion world can be and because she worked so closely with the designers she was inspired to use her wardrobe management abilities to develop her styling.
In June 2011, she was hired by Pulse Investments in Jamaica as a production assistant for their headline fashion show, Caribbean Fashion Week. Here her experience was evident as she worked as a Styling Assistant to the designers. Her future plans are to design, style and to promote fashion education within her community and country. She also seeks to continue her work within wardrobe in local theatre and film.
