Plantation, FL, December 15, 2017 – As a result of introducing the Bahamas Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Dionisio D’Aguilar to corporate government leadership in the Washington DC area (DMV), Bahamas Tourist Office representatives were recently invited to participate in a number of community activities in the Washington DC area (DMV). Activities included radio interviews, meetings with key local and state elected officials, meetings with corporate and business leaders and participation in the annual Feed Families Black Tie charitable Gala Event.
The Bahamas was promoted as a corporate sponsor of this black-tie charitable event where the newly appointed Consul General of The Bahamas, The Honourable Theo Neily was invited to bring remarks on behalf of The Commonwealth Bahamas.
“The Bahamas’ close proximity to the Washington DC (DMV) area has made it a go-to destination for residents here for many years. We plan to continue to use our presence at these events to highlight all our new product developments, to promote the various islands, accommodations, and cultural offerings that truly make The Bahamas a close paradise,” said Linville Johnson, Director, Multicultural Market, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.
The Gala also featured special recognition for Ms. Garbrielle Archer, former Area Manager of the Bahamas Tourist Office, Washington DC who received two proclamations for her leadership and community involvement in representing The Islands of The Bahamas. She has since assumed the post as Area Manager of the Bahamas Tourist Office in Atlanta. The event was organized by the Pure Media Group and sponsors included Cadillac, Prince George’s County, Courvoisier, and the Islands Of The Bahamas.
Consumers in the DC area and in particular Prince Georges County, MD rank among the highest amongst the multicultural market in per capita income.
