Sandra Daley has been called, "The Black Carrie Bradshaw of our Modern Day"
Award-winning author, and Radio and TV personality, Sandy Daley's best-selling first novel, "Whose Vagina Is It, Really?" has literally taken the world by storm. The book, dedicated to the single and married woman, often discussed, argued and recommended by many, details the life and times of a single woman in a modern world, trying to remain in control of her life, while still searching for her Mr. Right!
Often dubbed “The Black Carrie Bradshaw”, Sandy is a favoured guest on many talk and radio programs, as her vibrant personality is endeared by many. Her book has garnered such a response from the public that she is now is talks to bring “Whose Vagina Is It, Really?” to the big screen. “I am currently in pre-production right now and I cannot be happier,” she says. “It was inevitable for me to move in this direction with my book. Look out for it in theatres early 2013,” she says.
Sandy is known for her candidness with all topics, and is open about her past experiences, in and out of the bedroom. Her foray into the Entertainment world happened when she scored the lead in Christene Browne's feature film, ANOTHER PLANET a few years ago. The Jamaican born, Toronto bred beauty is described by film critics as a young Susan Sarandon, with the range and charisma of Angela Bassett. Daley has appeared in numerous music videos, and her acting credits include lead roles in various college productions including, THE SWEETEST THING, where Ms. Daley showed remarkable versatility by playing a 60-year-old woman.
She began writing for Streethype Newspaper in early 2009, and that was a turning point in her career. Sandy's column, "Real Talk with Sandy", is now undoubtable one of the most talked about and well read columns’ in New York City. She won the Spirit Award for favourite columnist in 2009, which was handed out at Citi Fields in New York City.
She tackles the issues surrounding love, relationships and even sex, in a very humorous, yet truthful way. Persuaded by many to write a book, Sandy began working on "Whose Vagina Is It, Really?" which was released in late 2010, and the rest as they say, is history.”I did not know that it would have caused such controversy,” she states. “Everywhere that I have been since the release of this book, someone knows about my book. Whether it be in Jamaica, Barbados, New York, Boston, or any other city.”
“Whose Vagina Is It, Really?” has received rave reviews by media professionals ,and has been reviewed by The New York Daily News, The Charlotte Post, The Jamaica Gleaner and many other media outlets.
Ms. Daley, who has been heralded by many as "the source for all things concerning women and relationships", is certainly a force to be reckoned with and continues to forge new heights for women, as she controls her brand. Her new syndicated radio program, “The Daley Grind”, which is aired in Boston, North Carolina, South Carolina, Atlanta, and parts of Miami, has now become a favourite in all the markets where they air.
